Robert N. Noyce: The Intel Years

Summary : Bob Noyce left Fairchild in 1968 to found Intel with Gordon Moore and Andy Grove. The three would build what would become one of the greatest companies the world has ever seen.

Annexure :

Bob Noyce said that one of his greatest satisfactions was in “having developed a meritocracy” at Intel, “based on knowledge, not position. Position power is not as important as knowledge power.” — Robert Noyce, The Financial Times, June 12, 1990 … One of Noyce’s great legacies is his breaking out from hierarchical management norm of the times and creating a true meritocracy as well as the creation of a culture of creative failure. Today, these concepts are at the heart and soul of what made Intel and makes Silicon Valley so successful.
